Horse Stables

This sandstone barn contained 12 stalls.  Some of the young men, who worked with the horses, stayed in the loft area.

This structure with its original windows has been used as classrooms since 1956.

Royal Ford with trainer Jack Jarvis

Royal Ford was purchased from W. T. Waggoner in the late 1930's by Fred Browning for $110,000.   He was used for breeding purposes only.  He was bred to a horse named Canfli and their foal Heelfli beat Seabuscuit in a race in 1940.  The famous jockey Red Pollard rode Seabuscuit but he also rode horses from time to time for Fred Browning.

Royal Ford Stable

This stable was built for the

famous horse Royal Ford.

The sandstone exterior with the name,

Royal Ford, engraved at the entrance and the oak paneling interior remain largely unchanged.

This historic structure houses the

     museum on the campus of

       Arlington Baptist College.
