During Dr. Oldham's tenure the seminary came to occupy its present location in Arlington, Texas. Facilities were expanded and the student body grew.
The Arlington Baptist Junior College was established in 1965. While preserving the purpose of the original institute and in keeping with the character of its program offerings, the Arlington Baptist College was chartered in 1972 as a four year undergraduate institution. The degree programs of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science were established. While all students majored in Bible, a Christian education program and a church music program were enlarged to better serve local churches.
Dr. Wayne Martin became president in 1980 after serving the college in various capacities for 20 years.
For these 10 decades the college has had but one purpose. Some 10,000 students have sat in the classrooms of the college and its predecessor institutions. Many have dedicated themselves to carrying on that purpose through various ministries in North America and around the world. Hundreds of churches and members, hundreds of missionary teams, and scores of other ministries trace their spiritual heritage to the "upper room" that was the Fundamental Baptist Bible Institute of 1939.
