The Fundamental Baptist Bible Institute became the Bible Baptist Seminary in 1945. When Dr. Norris' death in 1952 left the seminary without a place to hold classes, the seminary relocated to the former Brantley Draughon's College facilities on Main Street in Fort Worth. It was during this year that Akron Baptist College of Akron, Ohio merged with the seminary
Dr. Earl K. Oldham became president of the seminary in 1953. A short time later, the seminary lost its lease and a search began for a more permanent home. The Elmo White property, which today is the Loch and Green gated community, located on Highway 80 was purchased in 1954. Plans were being made to construct the buildings on this site to meet the needs of the students.
In 1956, someone from the seminary was driving by the front gates of the former Top O' Hill Terrace property just as the "for sale" sign was being placed at the entrance. Dr. Oldham found that this location was "better suited" to meet the needs of the seminary. Shortly thereafter, the 46-acre property was purchased.
At a tent meeting held in Arlington in the early 1930's, Dr. Norris proclaimed, "Top O' Hill Terrace is a blight on Tarrant County. One of these days we are going to own the place!" This prediction came true in 1956 when the Bible Baptist Seminary, now Arlington Baptist College, purchased the property.
