A student will graduate under the catalog requirements in force at the time of initial enrollment. A returning student, whose enrollment was interrupted by three (3) or more consecutive semesters, will be required to graduate under the current catalog.

Listed below are the graduation rates for the first-time, full-time entering students from the given years who graduated within 150% (4, 5, or 6 years) of their entering year:

Front Gates

To assure that all requirements for graduation are properly met, students are required to formulate a Degree Plan with their advisors in their junior year. The degree plan is filed with the Registrar. Changes in plans may be approved only by the Academic Dean.

The following requirements must be met to receive a degree:

Complete the prescribed program and major(s) in which a student is enrolled with a 2.0 GPA.
Complete a minimum of 128 hours with 30 hours in residence and the last 24 hours in residence.
Complete all required Christian Service assignments.
Pass a test on the College Articles of Faith.
Demonstrate the caliber of character expected from a Christian whose life is conformed to Biblical standards.
File a degree application with the Registrar during registration of the semester when requirements are expected to be met.
Meet all financial obligations.
Participate in commencement exercises. Exceptions require approval of the Academic Dean. Students who have six (6) or less hours to be completed in their degree program may be permitted to participate in commencement exercises.

The following honors will be conferred on qualifying students:

With Praise, GPA 3.25-3.49
With High Praise, GPA 3.5-3.74
With Highest Praise, GPA of 3.75 or higher

Salutatorian: The student compiling the second highest GPA.

Valedictorian: The student compiling the highest GPA.

Honor graduates must also meet the following requirements:

Have transferred not more than 64 hours from another college.
Be enrolled for at least 12 hours each semester at Arlington Baptist College (exceptions may be made for last semester of attendance prior to graduation.)
Not have any outstanding disciplinary action.
Cannot have had any “incomplete” (“I” or “Y”) grades for any semester unless it was due to mitigating circumstances.

Students graduating with a GPA of 3.25 or higher, who do not meet the stated requirements, may receive the recognition of Honorable Mention.
