BIBLE - YOUTH MINISTRIES


This program, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree, will prepare students interested in ministering to youth in various areas.


PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

The graduate who completes this program will:

1.
Effectively preach and teach the Word of God and the principles of Christian living to adolescents and young adults.
2.
Demonstrate an understanding of the adolescent environment and culture and how to meet special needs.
3.
Organize and conduct a ministry program for young people in a local church or related agency including staff training and working with parents.
4.
Have ability to work with the local church pastor and other staff people.
5.
Provide leadership in carrying out the evangelistic ministry of the church especially as it relates to youth.
6.
Articulate the function and place of the church in youth-related ministries.
7.
Demonstrate skills necessary to conduct youth programs including small group functions, leading music, and counseling the adolescent.
8.
Show appreciation for the ministry of youth director as a calling of God.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

 

1.

The Core Curriculum

Ten (10) additional elective hours (18 of the Bible/Theology courses must be from the 3000 or 4000 level courses)
LNG 2301, 2302, 2303, 2304, 2305, or 2306 (6 hours only)
2304, 3201, 3208, 3209, 3306, 3310, 4200, 4201, 4202, 4203, 4307 (CM 4200 – 4203 are for men only)
HIS 3305, 3306
MUS 1211; (General electives: women – 8 hours from any area)
   
2.
Fulfillment of all requirements in the Christian Service Program
3.
Character exemplary of Christian conduct and attitude
