BIB 4201. GENERAL EPISTLES I. 2 CREDIT HOURS
An expository study of the books Hebrews, James, and I Peter is made. Matters of historical background, authorship, date, purpose, and themes will be carefully considered in each book. Eternal principles will be discovered and practical applications will be applied from each book. Prerequisite: BIB 1301, 1302, 1305.
BIB 4202. GENERAL EPISTLES II. 2 CREDIT HOURS
An expository study of the books of II Peter, I, II, III John and Jude is made. Matters of historical background, authorship, date, purpose, and themes will be carefully considered in each book. Eternal principles will be discovered and practical applications will be applied from each book. Prerequisite: BIB 1301, 1302, 1305.
BIB 4204. PROPHETIC BOOKS II. 2 CREDIT HOURS
As a continuation of Prophetic Books I, this covers the books of Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, and Daniel. The importance of the respective prophets in Israel's history is considered. Passages relating to Israel in prophecy receive special attention. Prerequisite: BIB 1301, 1302, 1305.
BIB 4306. THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST. 3 CREDIT HOURS
An in-depth study and exposition of the book of the Revelation is made as special attention is given to the nature and meaning of this apocalyptic book. A pre-tribulational rapture and a pre-millennial return of Christ will be seen as being supported by the historical-grammatical interpretation of this book and related passages in other books of prophecy. Prerequisite: BIB 1301, 1302, 1305.
BIB 4303. PROPHETIC BOOKS I. 3 CREDIT HOURS
A chapter by chapter outline and exposition of the book of Isaiah are made with emphasis on the redemptive work of the Messiah as Isaiah presents it. Background, purpose, and strategic place in Scriptures are all considered. Prerequisite: BIB 1301, 1302, 1305.
BIB 4305. PROPHETIC BOOKS III. 3 CREDIT HOURS
Outlines and expositions of the books which make up the section of the Bible referred to as the Minor Prophets include the books of Hosea through Malachi. Passages relating to the Messianic mission and the restoration of Israel are especially highlighted. Attention is given to the influence these books had on the New Testament and Christianity. Prerequisite: BIB 1301, 1302, 1305.
BIB 4310. HOLY LANDS TRIP. 3 CREDIT HOURS
Students who have an opportunity to make a trip to the Holy Lands may enroll for 3 credit hours. The requirements for the course include a historical research paper prior to the trip, a daily journal of the trip, and a summary paper of the trip’s experience. Not recommended for first-year students.
BIB 4399. DIRECTED STUDY. 3 CREDIT HOURS (MAX)
Students may pursue a study of their own interest under the supervision of a faculty member. The study may be the development and support of a thesis or the investigation of a problem. It must relate to Bible exposition. The study will require thorough research and the presentation of a well written paper. Prerequisite: Senior rank, permission of the Department, 30 hours in Bible. May not be repeated.
