The books of Joshua, Judges and Ruth are covered chapter by chapter. Detailed attention is given to the significance of the geography of the land of Canaan upon the early history of Israel's occupation of the land. The events, places, and people of the books are discussed. The supernatural aspect and continuity of the history of Israel are emphasized to show how God accomplishes His plan in the course of man's activities. Prerequisite: BIB 1301.

PENTATEUCH – GENESIS |
3 CREDIT HOURS |
A study of the book of Genesis chapter by chapter emphasizing God’s marvelous creative work, man’s fall, and the beginning of God’s redemptive plan. The beginning of the nation of Israel is traced through the patriarchs. The present significance of this great story is studied in light of present day conditions. Prerequisite: BIB 1301.

PENTATEUCH/EXODUS-DEUTERONOMY |

This study of the Pentateuch will focus on the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Continuing the study of the nation of Israel from the book of Genesis, the course will trace their bondage and redemption, their defeats and victories, as well as the marvelous guidance of God, both physically and spiritually. The course will translate ancient history and problems to current life and solutions. This course will survey the main events of this vast amount of material, endeavoring to provide the student with a general knowledge of these books. Prerequisite: BIB 1301.BIB 2399. |

DIRECTED STUDY |
1 TO 3 CREDIT HOURS |
A supervised study in a book of the Bible allows the qualified student to pursue an area of individual interest. The work is comprised of readings and an essay covering the student's work. Prerequisite: Sophomore rank, permission of the department. May not be repeated.
